8:45 AM — Connections Worship
Pioneer Hall (Sept – May)An informal worship gathering in our fellowship hall, featuring music from our Connections Band (drums, guitar, keyboard, vocalists) and celebration of the Word through the leadership of our co-pastors, Rachel and Matt Matthews. Light refreshments are provided, and all are invited to sing along to a wide range of music: from contemporary Christian songs; to long-loved hymns passed down through generations; to more recent hymns from our Glory to God hymnal (2013).
Light refreshments are served.11:00 AM — Traditional Worship
Sanctuary (Sept – May)Held in our historic sanctuary, the elements of our traditional worship generally follow the structure of the PC(USA) Book of Order. Our co-pastors Matt and Rachel Matthews alternate weeks for preaching or lead a dialogue sermon together. We regularly include lay readers (youth and adults) for parts of the liturgy and Scripture readings. Music is offered to the glory of God each week during worship by: master organist Carla Sperry, who plays our 19-rank Létourneau mechanical action pipe organ (Op. 133, installed November 2017); several pianists who play our restored 1932 Model M Steinway baby grand piano; guest instrumentalists who join us throughout the year for anthems and cantatas; Chancel Choir; Youth Choir; Handbell Choir; vocal ensembles; and the robust congregational singing we encourage from those in the pews who are our "larger choir."
